According to the Ahvaz Municipality News Agency, Hojjatollah Dehdashti, the Mayor of Ahvaz, stated that in light of recent warnings, it is essential to conduct on-site inspections to monitor staff performance and implement necessary planning.
He added that other districts have additional agendas for the month of Mehr, including preparations for welcoming the "Mehr" season (back-to-school festivities). He further noted: "Essential precautionary measures must be expedited, including the reinforcement of electrical substations, the repair and upgrading of generators and pumps—ensuring their timely deployment—and the completion of pipeline installation projects." Emphasizing the importance of timely dredging of routes under the municipality's responsibility, Dehdashti remarked: "Currently, all capacities of the eight districts are being mobilized to ensure the effective management of surface water drainage and diversion." The Mayor of Ahvaz clarified: "The primary goal is to prevent water from entering residential properties and to ensure the rapid drainage of standing water (puddles)." Dehdashti also stressed the necessity of establishing a Crisis Management Headquarters within the district, with the participation of representatives from the Water Authority, Electricity Department, and other relevant agencies. He concluded by stating that the eight districts must strive toward self-sufficiency in providing the required machinery and equipment.
